Ouch

Ugh.

I know that this whole chiropractor thing is necessary, but man am I sore.  Even though my hips/lower back were out of wack, they never actually hurt.  Now that they're being re-adjusted, they're freakin sore.

I know that things will have to get (briefly) worse before they get better, but I don't have to be happy about it.

Anyway.  Posts without pictures are boring, so here's your daily dose of cuteness.

Day #29 Photography Challenge

Black and white.

I'm totally stealing Bebe's idea since I don't have any black and white photos.

He's black and white, and he's a cutie.  So I don't think you'll mind.

Photography Challenge Days #25 - 26

#25 Something pink

Right after my very first 5K!  Stretching it out while enjoying my complimentary finisher's beer.  One of the perks of running a brewery sponsored race.  I ran with a whole team, and we had these extremely bright shirts so we could find each other easily.  I have to say, it was great motivation to be able to look into the crowd, see your teammates, and have a set location to run towards.

Photography Challenge Day #22-24

#22 Hands

#23 Sunflare

This picture happened shortly after Day #7 Fruit's picture.  It takes a surprising amount of effort to get squished grapes off your feet.

Go ahead, Awww if you want to.

Puppies!

It's a fact that Jakey will be sorely missed, but I'm very fortunate in that I have two other furballs in my life.  They're adorable, full of kisses, and make me happier than I can tell you.  Want to see pictures?  Of course you do.  Who can turn down puppy pictures?

That's them.
The two cutest hotdogs ever.

Murphy was a southern rescue that we found on Petfinder.  I guess his old humans couldn't take care of him once they had a baby.  Unfortunate for them, because he is one awesome pup.

He's a character, and a doxie through and through.  He loves fetch, fluffy pillows, and will defend his pink fuzzy bone to the death.  God help you if you try to take it away from him.

And boy, is he protective.  He guards the pet door at my parent's house- ensuring the evil cat doesn't get me...

Pretty much, hes just the best ever.

Now, Tootsie.  Once upon a time I put my name on a wishlist for the local animal shelter, and they promised me they'd call if they ever had any dachshunds for adoption.  Lo and behold, roughly 2.5 months after Murphy came to live with us, I got a call.  They had a little girl that had been surrendered and she needed a forever home.  We hadn't planned on a second dog, but you know, Murphy needed a sister.

She was really shy at first.  Luckily she got over that pretty quickly and became the best cuddle buddy.  Her personality is best described as Simple dog from Hyperbole and a Half. Sweet, but not the brightest crayon in the box.  I've got stories that will leave you in stitches, but that's a post for another day.

She's just a sweetheart.  Definitely a momma's girl, and I won't lie- its unbelievably ego boosting that she refuses to leave my side.

I have a million more pictures I could add, but I imagine you're probably reaching your limit.  Besides, I don't want to be know as that crazy blogger who only posts pictures of her pets.  So I'm done for tonight, but I promise I'll share the cuteness as it presents itself.

Saying goodbye

I hate to get all serious so soon into my new blog's life, but this is worth it.

Today, we lost my childhood dog Jake.  He's been suffering from severe joint problems for as long as I can remember, and more recently from canine diabetes and massive infections.  As of this morning, he has stopped responding to his medication, and my parents made the heartbreaking decision to end his suffering.

Oddly enough, Saturday would have been 14years since we brought him home from the local shelter.  He was the cutest little pup, and I knew immediately that he was the one for us.  He grew from an adorable puppy into such a wonderful dog.  He was a huge teddy bear with a terrifying bark.

Unfortunately, Jake lived with my parents in NY and I'm up in NH.  I wasn't able to be there.  But thanks to modern technology I was able to skype with my mom, and she put the laptop on the floor so I could say goodbye.

RIP Jakey.  You were the best dog I could have hoped for and I'll miss you.
